PORTFOLIO REVIEW By Two Editors from Marvel and DC (2025)
Meet Andrea Shea, Editor at DC Comics, and Jordan D. White, Editor at Marvel Comics
- Jordan D. White has been part of Marvel’s editorial team since 2007.
He started as an assistant editor in the Hulk office, working on titles such as Incredible Hercules, New Exiles, and Hulk. He later joined the X-Men office around the time of Schism. As an editor, he led the Deadpool series for a long run from 2011 to 2018, as well as the Star Wars comics during their return to Marvel from 2015 to 2018. At that point, he became Senior Editor in charge of the X-Men line. After overseeing the end of the so-called X-Men Extinction era with X-Men: Disassembled, he collaborated with Jonathan Hickman on House of X and Powers of X, and then guided the mutants through the first Krakoan era. Once that concluded, Jordan joined the Spider-Man office, taking charge of Venom and Spider-Gwen, while returning to his roots with Incredible Hulk. Jordan also hosts a horror podcast called Nature Trail to Hell and enjoys playing Minecraft and the ukulele. - Andrea Shea is an editor at DC Comics and oversees several titles, including DC Pride, Mr. Terrific: Year One, Batman: The Gargoyle of Gotham, as well as many others that she is particularly fond of. She has an anxious cat, a slightly goofy dog, and is convinced that soup alone constitutes a food group.

How to Meet the Editors?
We will provide a box/bucket at the editors’ table for people to drop off their portfolios. These portfolios MUST ONLY BE COPIES, NEVER originals, always in A4 format, with a résumé included immediately after the cover, on page 1.
Each portfolio must contain a minimum of six pages and a maximum of 15. It can include pencils, inks (if you are an inker, you should also show the pencils you inked), or colors (if you are a colorist, you should also include the black-and-white pages you colored). Each portfolio must also have a cover with an illustration, the artist’s full name or pen name, and contact information. Additionally, each interior page must include the creator’s full name and contact details (phone number and email address) at the top of EVERY page.
We cannot guarantee that portfolios will be returned. If you leave it in the box, it is very likely you will not get it back, so do not include any original artwork in the portfolio.
This activity has free access. ANYBODY can leave their portfolio. But NOT EVERYBODY will get a private meeting, only those the editor decide are ready or have the potential to become a professional artist. We’ll ask the selected artists to show an ID to access the meeting, because only the ones selected can access those.
Each day of the exhibition, artists can leave their portfolios at the editors’ table; at that time, the editors will review and select portfolios and choose the artists they will meet. We will write the names of the selected artists on two whiteboards (or similar). Meetings will last approximately 15 minutes. If your name is not on the list, feel free to ask for your portfolio, and we will return it to you whenever possible.
